Pettify Labs ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Pettify application ("the App"). Please read this policy carefully.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:
2.1 Health & Fitness Data
We collect health information about your pets, including:
- Vaccination records and schedules
- Medical history and health notes
- Weight tracking and growth monitoring
- Medication schedules and dosages
- Veterinary visit records
This data is stored locally on your device (Core Data) and synced to your private Firebase account. It is linked to your user account and is not used for tracking purposes.
2.2 User Content
We collect content you create and share within the App:
- Photos and Videos: Pet photos, activity photos, and videos you upload
- Other User Content: Pet names, notes, activity logs, behavioral observations, and event descriptions
All content is stored in your private account (Core Data + Firebase) and is never shared without your explicit consent (except through the Family Sharing feature, which you control).
2.3 Identifiers
We collect identifiers necessary for app functionality:
- User ID: Unique Firebase UID for authentication and data synchronization
- Device ID: Used only for push notifications and device management
These identifiers are linked to your user account and are not used for tracking purposes.
2.4 Usage Data
We collect anonymized usage information to improve the App:
- Product interaction patterns (features used, interaction frequency)
- Crash data and error reports
- Performance metrics (app responsiveness, load times)
- Other diagnostic data
This data is anonymized and aggregated—it cannot be traced back to individual users. It is not linked to your user account and is not used for tracking purposes.
2.5 Diagnostics
We collect diagnostic information to identify and fix bugs:
- Crash reports and stack traces
- Performance data (memory usage, CPU performance)
- Other diagnostic data necessary for app stability
All diagnostic data is anonymized and used only for app improvement. It is not linked to your user account and is not used for tracking purposes.

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

- To enable pet profile management and health tracking
- To deliver AI-powered care recommendations through PetCareAI
- To send notifications, reminders, and updates
- To facilitate family sharing and collaboration features

4. AI-Powered Features
The App includes AI-powered features such as PetCareAI. When you use these features:
- Your pet's data (breed, age, health history, activities, names, photo descriptions, notes) may be processed by AI models to generate personalized recommendations
- AI processing occurs on secure cloud servers operated by OpenAI
- Important: Only pet-related data is sent to OpenAI—your personal information (email, name, address) is never sent to third-party AI services
- Pet data sent to OpenAI is contextualized but not linked to your personal identifiers
- OpenAI does not store API request data (zero retention policy)
- AI-generated suggestions are for informational purposes only and do not constitute veterinary advice
- We do not sell or share your pet's data with third-party AI service providers for their own purposes

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for tracking purposes. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
5.1 Third-Party Service Providers
We share data with trusted third-party services that help us operate the App:
Google (Firebase)

- With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share specific information

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL protocols
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest
- Secure authentication mechanisms

- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. After deletion:
- Your account and pet profiles will be permanently removed from active systems within 30 days
- Backup copies may be retained for up to 90 days for disaster recovery purposes
- Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained for analytical purposes

8.1 California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

- Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you use our mobile app, you can manage your privacy preferences in the app settings.

- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what is necessary to provide our services.

Verification: We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will only use the information you provide to verify your identity and process your request.
Authorized Agents: You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may require proof that the agent has been authorized by you to act on your behalf.
Categories of Personal Information Collected: In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (user ID, device ID), health and fitness data (pet health records), user content (photos, videos, notes), and usage data (anonymized analytics). Categories of Personal Information Disclosed: We disclose personal information to service providers (Firebase, OpenAI) for business purposes only. We do not sell personal information. For details, see Section 5 "Data Sharing and Disclosure" above.
9. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our Service is Not Directed to Children: The App and this website are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you are under 13, please do not use the App or provide any personal information to us.
COPPA Compliance: We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 years of age, we will delete such information immediately upon discovery. 10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
11. Tracking and Cookies
We do not use your data for tracking purposes. We do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
The App may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance user experience and collect anonymized usage data. You can control cookie preferences through your device settings.
App Tracking Transparency: The App complies with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. We do not request permission to track you across apps and websites because we do not engage in such tracking.
11.1 Do Not Track (DNT) Signals
CalOPPA Compliance: We respect your privacy choices. Currently, our website and app do not respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals from web browsers or mobile devices because we do not engage in cross-site tracking or behavioral advertising.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we only share data with service providers (Firebase, OpenAI, Apple) as necessary to provide our services. These service providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes we specify and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): If you use our mobile app, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals and other privacy preference signals. You can manage your privacy preferences, including opt-out requests, in the app's privacy settings.

12. Data Types We Do NOT Collect
For transparency, we want to clarify that we do NOT collect the following types of data:
- Contact Info: Email is used only for authentication through Firebase Auth, not for contact outside the app
- Financial Info: All payments are processed through Apple StoreKit—we do not collect or store payment information
- Location: Location services are optional and not used by default
- Browsing History: Not collected
- Search History: Not collected
- Sensitive Info: Not collected
- Contacts: Not collected
- Purchases: Purchase data is handled entirely by Apple StoreKit
- Audio Data: Not collected
